    AVG 7 for free is freeware & is updated all the time. People who use it seem to love it, here is a link for you;

    Well, if you're using/owning a tower/PC then may be you can upgrade to a new/faster processor, just add more ram to it.

    I don't know about others, but I have AVG Free Edition and Norton AntiVirus 2005, and a few other useful tools such as CCleaner, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware SE Personal and Microsoft-AntiSpyware. So far it's alright.

    I have NOD32 running in the background, but I also have AVG, AVAST and Anit-Vir (all free) to do occassional, on demand scans. They aren't running while NOD32 is. Don't want any conflicts, though I used to have both AVG AND Avast running at the same time without any issues.

    U might want to check out http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/about/index.xml

    They run comparison tests of virus scanners. Good site.

    If you do a lot of surfing..........Nod32 is excellent. Will alert you of possible trojans on the site itself. This is just going to a site, nevermind downloading.

    I do know that PC-Cillin does not work with all versions of windows. Tried to install on Windows98.....got error/non support. I'm not sure about Nod32, it came as a 2 or 3 month trial version with my computer. I purchased a year's subscription when the trial ran out. I believe it was under $25 USD for year renewal. Pretty inexpensive in my opinion.

    What OS do u have? 98? ME? XP? 512 should the bare minimum depending on what you're going to use the pc for. That said, 1G or more is the only way to fly!

    anyway do not get Norton or Macshield both sucks it missed some anti virus that TrendMicro caught. while scanning trend micro doesn't even use too much of resources power. on top of that it's cheaper than both of them.
