virus still showing up in registry after reinstall of windows xp

    I tried several times to recover my entire system with my sony vaio windows xp disk and everytime it claims to be fully recovered and back to its original factory install. I run spybot or even my spyware doctor and it keeps pulling up a virtumundo virus in the registry and I just can't get the virus to go away. Please someone help me, I am so frustrated with this.

    Spybot is old hat and of no use for the new viruses spyware doctor is about as useless.

    They are probably just finding traces that you left from not reformatting your drive prior to reinstall.

    Run SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytesAntiMalware, they will clean up anything you may be infected with and both are free…
