I hate them, and I need a solution.

I like to download stuff, but I can't deal with viruses.

I use adaware, spybot, microsoft beta, and housecall.

But I have something that they can't remove.

The only thing I know to do now is re-installi my OS.

What can I do to prevent this in the future?

If I get a second HD, and I download everything to it, can the viruses spread to the HD with my OS?

What other options do I have that I do not know about?

download, update & run in this order.
    ccleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/
    cwshredder http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html
    ad-aware se http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-...
    spybot s&d http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
online virus & spyware scan http://housecall60.trendmicro.com/en/start_corp.asp
    avg7 free edition http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

if get 2nd hd than use it as master, load windows, anti-spyware & anti-virus onto it with old hd not connected. do all the updates for those programs. hookup old hd as slave & scan old hd for viruses & spyware plus doing an online virus/spyware scan.

I ran everyone of them programs, no luck.

I still can't play FEAR properly, to much running in the background.

Guess I'll have to re-install the OS.

    About the HD ;

Can I safely download stuff to the slave without viruses infecting the master? Will all the viruses be contained on the slave? As long as they are, they won't affect performance will they?
