    Hello,
I'm having a bit of trouble with getting on my internet. I just installed the Vista RC1 little trial Microsoft released but i cannot get onto the internet (of course im using my crappy computer right now). I'm not a huge guy on Computer hardware but i think getting the internet to work means installing the chipset drivers for the motherboard right?

Well i have a Asus P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard and so far i havent found driver that is compaitible with Windows Vista, all for previous OS'.

So i was wondering is there any other way i can get onto my internet? Should i go back to Windows XP? Or does anyone know of this problem and knows how to fix it?

    Thank you

that vista is still a beta version so not all boards have drivers for it. leave vista alone til final version than decide if want it or not, might still have problem even than.

Its possible, i have the same board, and ran vista rc1 with no problems at all.

here is the link for the ethernet driver, im sure your onboard lan is a marvell yukon right?

    http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?dId=101&pId=39

that driver worked for me, just go into your device manager in vista and add the driver manually. should work perfect.

Yeag u got an onboard marvell yukon lan. I dled the driver you linked, but i dont think it did anything. I still cannot connect.

I dunno if its because of my router or intenret connection. everytime i try to make a new connection there is only a connection of PPPoE, and supposivly my internet provider is a Dynamic IP address. I tried what my router manual said to do for renewing an IP, but that didnt work.

    Can you help me? Thanks.

When adding this driver, go into your device manager locate your Lan card, right click and select update driver, and select install from a list or specific location, then select the option dont search i will chose the driver to install , and click have disk, and make sure you have extracted the downloaded driver to your desktop or wherever you want. and browse to find the driver and install it.
