I've checked and I am in DMA mode. I have 1 gig of ram. Computer is a HP dv600. Any suggestions? My xp machine is encoding in 15 minutes using dvd shrink and nero.
Hi, my fellow computer geeks/nerds in the know tell me that vista has a lot of DRM issues and that copying/backing up programs may have lots of hiccups with vista. That said, I am not sure that dvdShrink is vista compatible, and if not, a patch 4 it is probably not forthcoming from microsoft.Suggestion-- sorry but u may have 2 hose(remove/uninstall) off vista from your hdd and reinstall Xp. All the best
Shrink will work with vista with no problems I have vista and shrink and it works with no problems I see you have 1 gig of ram I have 2 gigs of ram if i was you i would add another 1 gig vista requires lots of ram your computer will run faster
Why not use the Shrink uninstaller in the Shrink folder to uninstall and do a fresh reinstall and see if that helps. Shrink is very fast with my Vista system.
I should have asked whether you are processing ripped files from the HDD or if you're processing directly from the DVD?
This is on my laptop so I only have the one drive. But it's taking me 45 minutes just to encode and the Shrink install is a new install. Since yours is working with Vista, I'll download a new copy and try again.
