vista final

    i have windows xp and windows vista beta
    i want to install windows vista final.
    when i start my pc i can chose to boot from xp or vista beta

    i want to know if i can install windows vista final over windows vista beta. or will it overwrite vista beta by it self thanks.

    1st hard drive has xp
    2nd hard drive has vista beta

    When Vista final comes out, if you really want to install it, it should be a clean install, not over the top of the beta.

    I will probably wait a few years before I even think about installing it. XP has been rock solid for me, and I see no need to update to a DRM laden OS.

    also you should remove the hard drive containing xp during the installation. windows tends to write over other operating system partitions.

    Not true.

    I installed vista on my second partition and it works just fine.

    i always unplug the power on my 2nd drive when doing os installs just to be safe, only takes a sec and dosent hurt anything.

    You really don't need to do that. As far as you are installing vista (or whichever OS) on a different partition than XP, everything should be fine.
