i got this iso for vista ultimate dell lite 32bit OEM...when i extracted it i didnt find a single setup.exe file or anything like that....help?
Generally, an ISO is used to create a CD or DVD. Once you've done that, you'll be able to use the new disk to install Vista.
ok...but just for giggles i used daemon tools to mount the iso on a virtual drive and it still didnt' work...any clues?
burnt it on a dvd...still didn't work. just gave me the save files that appeared when i mounted it using powerISO. theres one file called "INSTALL_WINDOWS VISTA ULTIMATE.CLG" but i can't open it..
ok...got it to work...installed in on a 10gb partition....ended up freezing quite a bit...lost alot of my drivers. and it didn't have the thing vista has when you hit Alt+Tab. it was the normal xp look.
skllcandy, edit your post when it is the last one in a thread instead of padding your post count (bumping). The rules are in my sig for your review.
I wouldn't have suggested mounting it to a virtual drive, that's why I said to burn it to a DVD. In whatever program you use, such as Nero, you choose to "Burn Image" and select the ISO file. DO NOT do this if you've mounted the ISO to a virtual drive. Unmount it first.
yeah i got it to work...i wish i was able to mount it as a virtual drive...just to save a dvd. lol. i wasn't to happy with how it turned out...i guess it wasn't the REAL vista..it ended up freezing quite a bit...lost alot of my drivers. then when i restarted it they were all gone again...and it didn't have the thing vista has when you hit Alt+Tab. it was the normal xp look. is there any way you could copy the iso over to a partition on my hd boot from it?
