Gateway sold us the Logitech X-530 plug & play 5.1 surround sound system for our new computer/Vista.

Only 2 speakers work. When I look at Control Panel/Sound/Audio the Logitech is not listed. The only "sound" listed is the CODEC 2 speaker that come with the Gateway.

Gateway doesn't have an answer. Logitech doesn't have an answer.

Anybody? Do I somehow need to get my Gateway to recognize the Logitech speakers?

    Help! Thanks

hello, i have the same speakers as you and i have got them working with vista.
can i ask what sound card or how many audio outs you have?
also have you downloaded the app/driver for your sound device?

in xp (im using dual boot config) i have to download my device app as windows xp does not natively support 5.1.

in vista it natively supports 5.1 i just went into sound options under control panel and followed the prompts and got it to work without additional software. as long as you have enought ports for all the speakers then everything should be fine.
