I just formated my computer and installed vista ultimate on it( was running xp) and for some reason I can not get my wireless to enable(I have ran all the updates). It is a Tp-Link TL-WN321G Wireless Usb Adpator and it worked when I was running xp. I have tried uninstalling it, updating the drivers, right clicking on it in the connections screen and selected enable( it says it is enabling it but it never does). Does anyone know how to get it to work( turn on)?

I have tried the drivers that windows vista automatically downloads when the device is plugged in and also the ones that came on the disc/website. It is a wifi adapter. I tried it on a different machine that is running xp and it works. The device it self has drivers for vista and it shows up in the device manager( it says that it is working correctly). Yet when I try to activate it in the connections window, it says enabling , but it never gets enabled.

are you using the wireless card program to connect to the net or the windows program?

I have tried both programs and even disabled the program that came with the device( even tried uninstalling it) and I still can't get it enabled( even though it says that the device is working properly).

figured out how to enable it doing the following:
    1) Click on start and then in the run window type in services.msc and hit enter
    2) Look for Wlan AutoConfig
    3) Right click it and select properties and change it from disabled to manual
    4) Then click start and it should now turn on
This worked for me after searching for hours on end on how to enable it

Im a little late to the party, but I am having the same exact problem with a single Vista machine. My Vista laptop works great with the wifi usb dongle I occasionally use with it (a realtek). This desktop will have nothing to do with it, or the new asus pci express card or the rosewill pci card I tried. I loaded the drivers for all, uninstalled and reinstalled all, etc, etc. I cannot get the wireless adapter to enable though. I tried the step above too. I disabled the firewall, did a scan. I have no idea whats going on. Im at a loss for a possible solution at this point.
