VLC stopped playing .MKV

    Hello, around 2-3 days ago, VLC started acting funny, it started to not play the .mkv files that i usualy play... until recently.. it doesnt play any .mkv file.
    I wonder what happened.. i didnt do anythign new.. VLC always played my mkv files... so please can anyone help? Heres a pic of what it looks like, it appears liek this but never starts.
