I have extracted a few VOB files using DVD decrypter. I would like to put them onto a (s)vcd. Could someone advise me which encoding tool I should use? Tools like easyVCD/dvd2svcd don't seem to work with VOB files extracted using other tools. Please help!

    Regards
    Sunil.

Load your vobs in dvd2avi, save your project file(.d2v), open TMPGEnc and use the project filter to select the SVCD template, select the .d2v file as your source.

Thank you very much TG. I will give it a try.

One more query. I am planning to use BurnAtOnce to burn the SVCD files to a CD-RW. Does BAO work on Windows ME?

    Regards
    Sunil.

I couldn't tell you, dude. I've never used BurnAtOnce. I only use Nero and VCDEasy for burning SVCD's.

    No, it's trialware.

I used DVD Shrink's Re-author to make a VOB file and took it into DVD2AVI but it messes up the aspect ratio. In the preview window and when i create an AVI its 380x480. Is there something i'm doing wrong or need to switch some settings?

Are you sure you didn't change some of the settings in dvd2avi? Also, I suggested that you save the project and create a .d2v file which you can open with TMPGEnc to re-encode. Creating an avi should have never come into play.

What I did was use TiVo to record a documantary. Then I burned it to a dvd. I then used DVDShrink to reauthor tool to make a 15 second clip of video that I needed for a power point project of WW2. Now i just need to convert the VOB file into an avi that I can put in powerpoint. I dont need sound. Just a good solid way to turn a VOB file into an avi.

Ah, then try Dr. Divx. You could also try Virtualdub MPEG2 but that will require some encoding knowledge on your part.
