Hello again. Sometimes I have a problem when copying a film using Nero. It comes up with the following message - the file 'd:\video_ts\vts_01_4.vob' could not be read. This only happens with a couple of films. I was just wondering what the reason might be. Thanks in advance.
It's a film I've downloaded. I use verbatim discs and seem to be getting this problem more and more these days. I use Nero 6 and go to Photo and video > Burn DVD-Video files and just drag and drop the whole disc icon in.
I've tried Imgburn but it seems to have the same problem. It gets to near the end of the write stage and it fails saying there is no data left on the disc.

Awful discs. Anyway, what the log basically says is for some reason or other your files aren't dvd compliant and it's not burning/compiling them. I suggest you re-rip the files using a program like dvd decryptor, then re-burn them.
there you go Jack i knew you could do it @ paulfcb i assume the downloads are from the same source and are avi. it would seem that now and again you are getting a corrupt file as here. also i would suggest useing DVD Flick to do the convertion then burn with nero as Ripper has said the log shows your verb's as cmc. so who ever is selling them as verb's is ripping you off one small thing your DMA is off on your Asus drive. it should be on
Good catch Geoff Another thing, update your firmware from 1.21 to the latest 1.24 http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/download.jsp?dir=/files/support/dvrup&filename=DVR112D_FW124EU.zip Download, extract and run that. Make sure your computer is otherwise idle whilst updating and that there is no disc in the drive.
