Hi, Two years ago I did a tandem skydive and I have a DVD of it. I have copied the VOB files etc onto my hard drive and I want to edit it but I need a little help. The DVD currently has a song played over it and I was wondering is there any possibility of editing the VOB file to get rid off this song that is faded into the background so that it just leaves voices etc?. Also I want to cut a few bits of the VOB file out. What software would allow me to this?. Also how would i take pictures from this VOB file? Would I need to convert it into a Mpeg before I could do anything with it? Thanks Kit
The audio is the problem. If the music was on the left channel and the voices on the right it would be simple. The audio could be stripped off, the music removed and the audio reattached to the video, otherwise it entails a lot of effort and the result might not be worth it. TMPgenc DVD Author can edit the VOB files and resave to DVD, other options are Freeware, which involve more effort. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/advanced_tmpgenc_dvd_author_guide.cfm AVIDemux can edit the files and is free. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/AviDemux Load VTS_01_1.VOB Click 'Auto' > 'DVD' and set the destination to 4:3 or 16:9 to suit your TV. Click the Calculator window and set 'Format' to MPEG and 'Media' to DVD5. On the left side of the screen, click Video > Configuration and make sure the Destination Aspect Ratio is the same as above. Edit the video as required. If you want individual picture frames, click 'File' > 'Save' and select the image type (jpeg, bmp, etc). Type in the name and extension for the pic, eg 'mypic.jpg' as the program does not add the extension automatically. When ready to save the new video, remember to give it the full name, including the extension, eg 'MyVideo.mpg' The file will be saved as an mpeg file and will have to be reauthored to DVD with the likes of Nero or the freeware 'VSODivXtoDVD' (no menus, but functional). http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_divxtodvd_guide.cfm Good luck!
