Well First of all your Mpeg file will have to be a DVD Compliant Mpeg2 file with DVD Compliant Audio..
And the Program doesn"t convert your Mpeg2 file to anything because the Structure of a Vob file and a Mpeg2 file are allmost Exactly the same accept for a small ammount of info in the header which Holds the Chapter Information..What a "DVD authoring " Program does is Just add the Menu"s and Chapters and scene selections to your Movie and then Formats the Mpeg2 files with the menu"s and Chapter information into Vob and a IFO and BUP file inside a Video_TS folder that gets Burned to DVD...For Something really easy to use then try "Tmpgenc DVD author" it is really easy to use and there is a 30 day demo available..If your Mpe files are Not DVD compliant then you will need to encode them To a DVD Compliant Mpeg2 Format...
