Hi All, Very new to all this. I have a DVD with a normal VTS_01_1.VOB Video file and AC3 sound (I think!) I have installed a decoder for the sound and have used AutoGordianKnot to convert to .avi. I then wanted to import the file into Digital Origin IntoDVD so that I can edit/split etc. First IntroDVD said it couldn't open .vob so then I converted it to .avi but IntroDVD now says it can't complete import because sound compression type is not supported. Is there an easy way to do this? he video is only 10mins long (537mb) and I need to split it then use short excerpts on a website. Thanks everyone
To edit/save clips from an AVI file, drag it onto Avidemux. Use the slider and A/B buttons to select the clip. Click the 'Save' logo and give the clip a full name - including extension, e.g clip1.avi Repeat for the next clip. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avidemux.cfm
Mant thanks for tip - I can now split my video into seperate avi files. Next stage is that I want to import into Digital Origin but is says the sound compression type is not supported - what can I do about this pelase?
Find out what type of audio it wants. Use Avidemux to change the audio (click the arrow beside 'Copy') to whatever it needs. Save the file with a new name and extension.
