I want to turn the VOB files from a dvd into one file, not .avi persay. Any info will be appreciated!
Check out this tutorial using only freeware tools: http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/tutorials/dvdedit.php In stead of going to DV-AVI you can also use it to go to DivX or any other AVI type.
Hi beefcake1, In addition to TPFKAS's suggestions here is a link to a nifty program that is somewhat compatible to autogk ( alittle easier in my opinion) http://www.clonead.co.uk/. Try a program out called avi.net. You will need microsoft framework 2, avisynth (latest version works best) and the xvid or divx codec installed to use the program. Results are pretty darn good and you choose the settings you wish to use. I've had great success using it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to saves movies and space whether on an external or internal hard drive. Give both suggestions a try as you can't go wrong either way.
