Confused I am after converting hundreds of dvds to xvids suddenly I have two that wont sound sync here is my process

Rip dvd with dvd decrypter in ifo mode to a single Vob file
Load the vob into virtualdubmod and crop and resize as required compress to xvid

this process has worked flawlessly untill these two films done other films since perfect sync but try and do these two and every time sync problem even though the orignal ripped vob plays in sync ive tried demuxing the wave file and dubbing it back in but same problem any ideas anyone ?

Maybe those 'hundred of DVDs' had zero A/V delay. Usually, DVD's AC3 audio has a delay which must corrected, before making AVI files.

One way is to Demux AC3 files usng ReJig keeping checked the box 'correct AC3 delay'.

Another way is to decode the sound to WAV using DVD2AVI and compressing it to MP3 later (DVD2AVI automatically corrects the delay, so that A/V delay bewteen the video and the WAV file is thero).

I would do one of these. Then, VitrtualDubMod (when you load the VOBs to make the video part) can load both MP3 or AC3 streams (only, it gives a warning if you load a an audio stream compressed MP3 VBR, but that thing has consequences only if one tries to do back AVI --> MPG [the usual 'DVD out-of-sync' error).

Thank for the ideas but unfortunatly no go both methods ended up with lost sync upon further investigation I notice the dvd decrypter has marked a cell on both movies as having possible structure protection and unmarked it Ive now run one of dvds thru vobblanker and hope that fixes the problem any other sugestions would be apreciated

Just an extra thought could it be a setting within dvd decrypter that is causing this error or a new type of protection Im unaware of.
The movies are high school musical and scarry movie 4 I own both and transfer them to xvids for the kids to watch on my home network

Try to rip the DVD with a more advanced ripper, first (maybe DVD Fab).
If it removes the protecton when ripping, you're done.
