VOBblanker processed my movie all pixelated

I hope I'm posting this in the right section.

I just started using VOBblanker and used my copy of Swordfish (as it is old, I figured a backup wouldn't be a bad idea just in case).

Now, I processed the movie from the DVD, I didn't back it up to my HD. I figured to just kill a step.

I edited out all the unwanted parts and just kept the movie, 5.1 English Audio, subtitles (they ocupy next to nothing anyway) and the opening menu.

After the process, everything came out extremely blocky and pixelated, sort of like when you play a scratched DVD and large artifacts appear on screen.

Now the DVD is still flawless and plays perfectly each time so I know it's not the disc.

Is this the reslut of some kind of protection since I didn't put it through a decrypter first into my HD?

Any thoughts?

Since is a backup, there is no protection, that was removed first time you made the backup.
Vobblanker is not meant to be a ripper. Rip first to the hard drive.
What discs did you use for backup? Even if it plays with no problem, it might not be agood rip.

 

Actually, the Swrodfish I used is original, I was trying to make a backup without the fluff.

 

...You cannot replace the step with DVD Decrypter( should update to DVDFab HD Decrypter if you haven't yet). Yuw can't decrypt with VobBlanker. VobBlanker is for "processing"

 

Just finished redoing it first running it through DVDFAB HD and then processed it from the HD with VOBblanker, came out perfect with 100% compression.

So the beauty of VOBblanker also seems that with removing what you don't want, you can actually skip the DVD Shrink process since it all fits on one DVD5.

Seems from now on I'll be doing by backups this way, leaving DVD Shrink as a possible third step should the movie still not fit after removing what I don't want.

depends on the movie. Removing all the stuff that you want does not ensure that it will fit onto a DVD5. For example "Transformers"-movie only- everything removed except the 5.1 english audio. No way around it without compressing.

 

I agree, the same with War of the Worlds actually. Still, it's a geat tool for some movies that can fit on a single DVD5 with just the basics and retain 100% compression.

My point was that I'll be doing the VOBblanker as a second step from now on, before using DVD Shrink as a necesity.
