I heard that Nero has built in "volume levelling", is this correct ? Are there any CD burners that DO have volume levelling ?

    Thanks in advance !

""volume levelling"" as you say is called Normalisation !

Normalization is the process where you scan an audio file, determine the average level and then increase or reduce the levels of the file so it reaches as a whole the level you have chosen (99%) without peeking over the threshold of your sound output to create saturation . You would normalize before you burn to disc as the last step in mastering.

However, one must consider that some balads dont have to be played at full volume and are better left alone, hence , you can say that mastering to maximum is not needed in all cases.

Nero has that feature and many other Cd burning software !

Cd Burner are not ""software"" ; they have a chip that holds a limited amount of instructions , called firmware .Those instructions are for setting up and controlling the action of burning.

    Regards !

I've found 2 that have volume leveling. One is MusicMatch and the other is Nero. There is others but I don't know of them.

Audacity is a FREE one and has a good volume levelling --- Go Effects and select Normalise !

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

it's a complete sound editor -- where you can remove silence at the end of tracks .. ect.... !
