I have TMPEG and VSO Divx to DVD. To the people who have used both of these which one gave you better quality? TMPEG takes like 10 hours on the highest quality to covert my avi movies and VSO take about 1 hour. Is it really worth the extra 9 hours to use TMPEG?

That's just one of those things you have to decide for yourself.

NOT. Use VSO, the free one (really good) is version .59, the new ones you have to pay for but are excellent. I tell you this from personal experience, but i do not like tmpgenc.

It depends on your trade-off of "quality" vs "speed".

DivXtoDVD is fast and its quality is reasonable. TMPGEnc, on the contrary, is slow but you achieve far better quality.

BUT you have other encoders, such as MainConcept, which deliver also very good quality and are as fast as DivxtoDVD.

Myself? I prefer speed, I am not that picky on quality (unless its pixelate is poor). but that's me.
