I have a Sony DVD recorder, it has decent menus on my recorded disc, but I want to strip out the video and put my own menus and chapters in, then re-burn it. How would I start this? Thanks, Jason
Few programs needed to start you on your way.. DVDremake - Allows you to rip or deselect required scenes/special addons etc. from your disk You may need to encode your files to mpeg2 format, once converted to this use TmpgEnc Plus to encode it back to dvd format - Then use TmpgEnc Dvd Author to add menus/chapters etc. I havent had to do what your on about doin, but i've heard about it.. Its what u need to do.. Danbhn
Thanks, I just have a series that I've recorded off of TV and wanted some cooler menus than what the DVD recorder does.
No, you don't need tmpgenc plus. The DVD is already in mpeg-2 format, but hidden inside 1 gig .vob's. All you need to do is join the .vob's and make it back into an mpg. DVDLab will do this, and allow you to make your own menus as well. You could also rip the dvd into it's elementary streams (joining when needed) using ReJig, then reauthor in anything you like.
Ok, I'm thinking about getting the studio, that seems to have everything I'll need, not a bad price. Thanks guys!
