Hi Guys, Im new to this particular forum but I just wanted to shed some light on what has happened to three people who live not that far from me. I stay in the surrounding areas of Glasgow and within the last 48 hours VM have been going door to door claiming that essential maintainence has to be made to customers set top boxes. One of my friends who wasn't in at VM's time of calling recieved a card through his door saying they will call back at a later date. However, the three people that were in have had their "illegal boxes" confiscated and are awaiting further questioning on the matter. Unfortunately I have not been able to contact either of my friends since this happened to them so I am unawares to the situation they are now in. Whether VM are demanding details of where the box was purcahased etc I honestly do not know yet. My uncle stays in the same street and is a VM subscriber, but he does not own an "illegal box". He is a pensioner and is very happy with the XL package. What I don't understand is why he never got cornered by VM if essential maintainence was required to set top boxes in his area? I thought it best to bring this matter to your attention, and to see if anyone else is aware of this happening.
if they come to your door unexpected .you just say sorry you cant come in, im just going out you will have to make an appointment.they cant force entry.then you can get shot of the box for a while if they do want to come back.
