Is there a way to watch my kids computer in real time to see what they are doing on there computer from my computer? We are on the same home network. I already have PCTattle Tale and I have Remote Assistance setup, but remote assistance wills show up when in use and I would like to watch what they are doing in real time.
Why do you have to do that? Have faith on your kids that they won't do anything stupid in the computer. Just trust them.
this web site's member base consists mainly of teens who have suffered parental controls such as what you're trying to inflict and adults fluent in 'Net who understand the pointlessness and overall negativity of such spying tools. you won't get any help here. sorry.
that is truely a horrible thing to do. give them some privacy, and let them do what they want. besides, if it's stuff or sites that you don't want them visited that you're worrying about, just go through your router or modem's history log of all the sites that were visited and block them.
That's really sad and a bit scary. Have you thought for a moment how they'll feel about you when they find out you spy on them? Instead of you freaking out about what they're doing on the computer how about all of you being together, like, you know, A Family, and doing stuff together. That way maybe they won't feel shut out or uncared for and won't need to go look for kicks or surrogate parents elsewhere.
yeah man... respect their privacy! @ aus -- why are you sorry? the guy is obviously a edited by ddp of he wants to invaid peoples privacy...
thecraigc, watch the language. post edited. goddes1, if you don't trust your kids than why give them a computer that has access to the net?
meh, it doesn't bother me. no reason to get upset...if his kids turn out screwed up, i'm not to blame.
personally im not sure why so many are quick to throw this person under the bus. given today's threats on the computer and child predators i don't see why it is such a bad thing if this guy/gal wants to know exactly where or what their child has been/looking at. i mean they probably paid for said device along with internet fees and if that is not being used for its intended purposes, well i guess thats another can of worms i won't open. im early 20s btw, w/o kids but what this person wants to do although it is a bit extreme i guess, isn't necessarily something that is "invading their kids privacy." what privacy do you really have as a kid? i guess that also has to depend on how old kid is too. i happen to agree more with ddp on this one going along the lines of why give them a computer at all. seems like it'd be much easier if you just locked a computer and allowed them to use it while you were present(and i don't mean looking over their shoulder watching every move). i don't know your kid or situation so i wouldn't be quick myself to offer much advice on how to parent your child, but what i feel i should say is the more you control or try to control their life, the more rebellious in their actions they are going to be. i don't care if you even try to beat them with a baseball bat, they'll find a way around things(if they really want to). oh btw i can't really offer any help here as i've never really thought about doing this nor do i know of anything that may help. i just hope while you watch your kids you try to put yourself in their shoes. understand what you are really doing and how you would feel about someone doing that to you.
This is a subject that i have had some experinece in. To those that say "privacy etc" thats all very well BUT what kind of responsible parent would not want to know what its kids have been doing (within reason) online. Case in point, a number of years ago my daughter used to go on my wife's pc (I do did not allow her on mine). She was allowed to surf etc as long as she did not go to chat rooms or any porn sites etc. We had parental controls set that were supposed to stop her from doing this but FAILED! I found out that she was going to both message boards & porn sites & when questioned about it would deny it!! BUT bearing in mind there are onlt 3 in the house & it wasn't me or my wife it isn't rocket science to work out the "guilty party". I gave her numerous chances on the computer and she dissobeyed us all the time. She is now no longer allowed on the pc, she has abused the trust that we placed in her & she has no-one but herself to blame.
To be honest, if either of my parents tried to do that, they'd have a backdoor on their pc in under a minute. XD
if it weren't for sneaking porn and cybering with random people, i wouldn't be the farktard i am today.
if your living under your parents roof and they are payiny your way its there ballgame,if ye can not obey them and agree on ye parents rules,i say don't let the door hit ye in the arse on ye way out to make a life of ye own.. Shado36 you brough up a good point..
Yes, it is their ballgame, but that's no ground for invasion of privacy; is it? And, well whatever, but everyone makes a life of their own at some point ireland.
i raised 5 children,2-boys and 3-girls.. my rule was play by my house rules and get high grades and obey us as your parents ..and i will send ye all through cottage.. and they all got there wish..
