I want to connect my cable box to Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder found in BestBuy (link here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...acle&lp=4&type=product&cp=1&id=1209166068373)

I am wondering if anyone used this before... I want to know if I even CAN watch TV + record using this product.

The theory is to connect my cable box using RCA or S-video cables to this device, and then connect the device using USB 2.0.... Then using some TV viewing program (Myth?) to view and record. Will this work?

As long as your cable box has the rca video/audio out it'll do it. You can check youtube they show you directions how this product works.
More than likely you will have to use the products software to record your video since it will be composite. No need for exotic software.

mythtv/sagetv/beyondtv those are dedicated PVR software, they work better with the PCI tuner cards that have built-in hardware mpeg encoders.

The dazzle USB is mostly for laptops and the occasional recording of VHS or tv programming.
