Recently purchased a new PC. Core i7 processor with an Asetek water cooling system on it plus an additional side case fan. It runs excellent all the time, but if I am doing anything too resource intensive, such as editing a lot of large pictures, the LCD alarm system on the NZXT case starts beeping.

Wondering if anybody knows what the temperature range should be on a typical water cooled i7 system?

The whole point of watercooling is that the water in the resovoir should be with a few degrees of ambient temperature (if not lower)...otherwise you might as well just use a good heatsink/fan combo.
