Ok, the other day I was fiddlin around with wavepad and some how my computer lost the ability to save or play .wavs. wtf. It said there was a PCM codec missing or something. can a computer just delete a codec accidentally? Or maybe it got corrupted somehow? So I checked my codecs and there was no pcm codec, or anything to do with wavs. So I figured I'd try to download a new one. Only there ARE none available online. I've checked download.com, google, microsoft database, I must be retarded, but I can not find one. Help me out please.

Wow, now that is something that isn't suppose to be. PCM is the default (de facto standard) for all audio applications. WAVE is a Microsoft creation for Windows PCs. WAVE is just a container that is mostly used to hold uncompressed PCM data for playback on Windows drivin hardware. I have never seen a PC delete a PCM codec.

Try this, go here and install the appropriate codec pack for you installation of WMP...
