ways to mod the look of Windows XP for free?

    i was wondering if there is some sort of freeware out there that allows you to change the color and themes of the toolbar and windows something like what windowblinds does, only it will be freeware?

    The only freeware option, is to use the uxtheme.dll patch. You can google it... but, that only supports using hacked msstyle themes, bootscreens, and logins.

    WindowBlinds is a separate program that does not use hacked system files...and is FAR more versatile than the uxtheme patch. I'm not trying to sell you WB, but as someone that paid $20 to use it, I can say that it's paid for itself many times over. At least with WB, if it does have issues with your system, you can uninstall it... with hacked system files, it can lead you to wiping your system and reinstalling.

    In my honest opinion, I'd strongly urge you to stay away from the Vista transformation pack as well.
