I tried the trial period of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 with some difficult movie backups and was very pleased so I purchased the combo deal at the Slysoft site for AnyDVD, CloneDVD2 and CloneCD. I am concerned that I picked up a virus or something but not sure how....I always scan anything I download (Avast). I had been trying to backup some audio cd's and my DVD burner started acting squirrely....wouldn't recognize media, wouldn't eject disk....tried new different media, problems continued. Switched to try to backup new movie Robots with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2......I get CSS encryption message on CloneDVD2 which I thought was supposed to be taken care of by AnyDVD. Started DVD43 and it removed encryption then CloneDVD2 says it doesn't recognize my burner (strange because it has worked fine with it for weeks now). Rebooted and now CloneDVD2 recognizes my burner again. I then ran DVD Decrypter on the movie to my hard drive and burned it with Nero Recode2....plays fine on computer but not on my standalone. This is all strange because whenever I had something that I couldn't burn with Nero on Dvd Shrink, the AnyDVD/CloneDVD2 combo worked. I am running a full antivirus check while I am away from the house and if it comes up clean then I plan to uninstall the Slysoft products and do a re-install and see what happens. I am running the latest versions of these products and have the latest firmware upgrade on my burner (microadvantage). I have even thought that maybe my burner is dying. Any ideas?
Nevermind.....problem now seems to be gone. Uninstalled all three of the Slysoft programs and re-installed each one being certain that I had no programs running in the background and did a reboot after re-installing each one. Maybe I had a corrupt installation.....antivirus and spyware programs found nothing. Successfully backed up my Robots first time with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2...plays just fine.
