    Hello,
    I noticed something strange. I'm encoding a DivX505
avi in tmpgenc. The avi is 23.976 fps progressive,
no duplicate frames. I'm using SVCDfilm template. If I use AVI2(opendml) in tmpg/environment everything
    is OK.
But if I use directx in tmpg/env., I get a duplicate
frame every fifth frame, and the encoding isn't as
    good.
I know the obvious thing to do is to use Opendml,
but in this case, I'm need the directx interface
because of subtitles in SRT format.

Why does using directx result in a "ghost" frame?
    Dave

This frame count discrepancy remains a mystery.
I have worked around the problem by merging the AVI
+ subtitles in virtualdub, and frameserving to
    tmpgenc.
    Regards,
    Dave
