Hi! My home network was working nicely until 1st June when DNA upgraded my speed to 100mbit/s. On that upgrade day, things started breaking. I am using the modem in bridged mode and an Apple Time Capsule. Every 30 mins or so, something happens between the Time Capsule and Cisco modem which causes it to report the Internet is disconnected in the AirPort Utility. Even though Skype still seems to work... The problem can be temporarily resolved by either: restarting the Time Capsule or restarting the Cisco modem. Tried swapping modems as support suggested, and got an EPC3828D, problem persists. Before I put it in bridged mode I made sure the flood protection was off, and other firewall settings set to off. also tried factory resets on modem and time capsule. Anyone got any ideas on this one? Driving me nuts!
DNA allows only IPv4 protocol on connections. Maybe it helps you to locate/fix problem. Computer network confing must done only IPv4 connections and DHCP enable. Windows or Mac OS?
OS X.. and my other Apple devices seem to fail after 30 mins too. LG Smart TV is working with Netflix though at least. I did actually notice this new router seems to be IP6 enabled. Maybe I'll play around with those settings and see if it helps. I just don't get why everything failed on 1st June, when all that happened was my speed was increased as I switched to their taloyhtiölaajakaista thing.
I got similar talöyhtiölaajakaista via VDSL. Bridged mode only 5 IP addresses on ISP. I don´t have experience on OS X translated dna Finnish manual page 22 https://www.dna.fi/documents/15182/...Opas.pdf/94e02727-6c95-4ea7-8988-d53986819d8d Broadband connection settings / Mac OS X Creating Internet Connection The instructions are for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard or newer) version. 1. Open the Apple menu, System Preferences. 2. Open Network. 3. Choose on the left side of the window in the Ethernet from the list and click Options. Choose TCP / IP tab. Select Configure IPv4 type Using DHCP 4. Make sure Proxies tab that no proxy at not checked. Finally, click OK 5. You can stop the determination of the settings by closing The upper left corner and approved the Network window Access changes by clicking Apply I hope it helps you keep your connection up
I've turned off the IPv6 settings in my Apple Time Capsule, and it seems to be stable! I guess it was trying to take and allocate IPv6 addresses and DNA kicked me off when they detected that. I should read up on this IPv6... Thanks for your help! I wouldn't have thought to look at those settings. Guess I should have come here and asked 7 days ago when the problem started Cheers, - Joe
Hello again, now DNA have IPv6 protocol use on cable broadband connections. IPv4 configured network works naturally ok too.
Nice, thanks for the information! I might try switching IPv6 support back on in my Apple Time Capsule router then and see if it lets me keep the connection
