I finaly got the effort to regester a account on afterdawn. I was a long time lurker for like 2 years. I first found out about this site back in 2003. I was searching how to backup PS2 games and I clicked on this site called afterdawn and now I know alot of great things. Well thanks to everyone on these forums.
You spent 2 years browsing through the site and now finally decide to join. I spent 4 months and had to cave. You made the right choice in crating an account.
i used to visit afterdawn a few years ago, but not often, i visited again about a year ago and thought i'd stick around; good choice as there's so much going on. welcome aboard, as you've noticed whilst lurking, it's well worth it
Welcome to AD. Having perused this site for almost 2 years you would have gathered a lot, so you already know what to expect. Needless to say joining in the game is a whole lot more rewarding than being a spectator so congrats on making the leap.
Hi NightMage. It's cool that you decided to go ahead and join. I think that you will like it here. I know that I have very much enjoyed my short time here as you won't come accross a finer group of people, on any site. [bold]I just thought that I should warn you though;[/bold] When not used properly AD most definetly can be habit-forming, and in extreme cases highly addictive. I started out much like yourself, as an occasional user of AD. You know, mostly on the weekends just for kicks. Then in May of this year I decided to join and my life changed forever. Not so much at first, so I thought to myself, "Whats the big deal anyway? AD really isn't so dangerous, I'm sure that I can handle it." Then I started spending hours at a time on AD, until now I find myself hopelessly addicted. I am probably at any given time, subscribed to 8 or more different threads. I check my e-mail every 5 to 10 minutes looking for updates to my subscription threads. I even named my pet German Shepherd "dRD". (Just kidding about the last one as they don't allow us to have pets in here.) The doctors have told me that the voices that I am hearing, and also my hallucinations are in no way attributable to my frequent use of AD, but it really doesn't matter anyway. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't change a thing. [bold]The preceeding has been a public service announcement provided by AfterDawn Anonymous.[/bold]
Hi NightMage Welcome aboard to AD!!! I have certainly learnt a lot since joining AD since last year, yet I'm also helping people to learn as well... So, welcome aboard and hope you enjoy the ride... Regards
Hehe, Sounds like me!! Nightmage - 2 years pondering on joining and in all that time you couldn't think up a decent nick??? Haha just joking. Welcome and enjoy.
I'm feeling much better now. You know it is said that misery loves company and by extension I'll add addiction. This site is highly addictive. Look forward to red eyes NightMage. If this is an abbreviation for 'Nightmanager,' then you'll fit right in.
