I bought a 50 pack of maxell's cd-r months ago. Are they good or bad? I don't see anything about them on this forum.
A friend gave me some maxell 74 minutes 24 speed disc. My home Sony player won't play them for some reason. My car stereo will play them . My portable Panasonic disc player will play them. They burn at 24 speed. The name brand Maxell is not a popular brand when it comes to blank c.d.s . I'm sure the New Maxell disc that are out are as good as Sony,TDK, and Memorex.
U should buy high quality cd-r's like sony or TDK. You may have to pay a bit more, but you don't have the risk throwing them all away because they don't work!
Used the CD-R Identifier and the Maxell's I bought turned out to be Prodisks. They are rated one of the best.
Maxell manufacturers also include (atleast) Ritek and Hitachi Maxell. So I guess Maxell discs are pretty OK. Concerning TDK, sometime ago I happened to purchase 2 TDK CD-RW discs, which turned out to be manufactured by CMC Magnetics. My PC reacted very badly to them. It made me suddenly feel like TDK isn't so hot anymore. I wouldn't blindly trust them.
