    It doesn't matter about the chip.It's the dvd-rom it self..Memorex 700 cd-rw,imation 650 cd-rw.Works for me.

    do you have a thompson drive and will a sony cdrw work or the imation because im new at this but i know a couple of things..because im not sure about memorex

    Imation works with thomson....Don't know about sony.And i switched to the samsung drive.

    so imation cdrws work ,ok one more question if i want to connect my pc into my xbox what do i do ,i have a dsl modem with 3 fitting one for and ethernet cable wire,one for the telephone line ,the other for power plug,and the ethernet cable wire that goes to the ethernet card on the pc .there what else do i need.
