What do modchips do

    I was thinking about moding my xbox but I am not sure what they do. Can someone please tell me

    they allow you to play and make backups of your games, plus it really opens up the xbox to allow you to run other apps, and play divx movies, etc, etc.

    you install the chip, put the game in the xbox, FTP over to the xbox, transfer the data to your PC, patch the game if needed, make an xISO out of the game data, then burn it.

    I enabled my modchip and turned on my xbox. Then the xbox went on and off twice the the green light on the xbox started flashing red. What is wrong

    Now I have my chip working but when i turn the xbox on the BIOS screen comes up and the disk tray opens. I put a game in the the screen says unable to read...haulting process. Thanks in advance for any advice

    goto http://www.xbox-scene.com and check out their tutortials section. You have a lot of reading to do.
    1. Get bios 4977 off the net. Search you will find it.
    2. Read about Evox or Evolution X bios.
    I finished mine last week. It runs and I upgraded to a Maxtor 120gb HDD. I read every thread in the afterdawn forums. There is tons of good advice in this site.
