Everytime I try and convert a VOB file to AVI using WinAvi it tells me something about "Error can't read graph make sure Media Player can read the file". To me one has nothing to do with the other one. I tried Divx and I would get my pentition by the time it would finish. Let me know what I need to do please......you good people.
It obviously renders the input via dshow. If it can't create a dshow graph for the input, then that means it can't encode it (no input = no output). The idea is that if a directshow player can render the file, then it should be able to. Graphedit is probably more usefull than wmp though at least newer versions, since they don't show you any filter information.
The trick (and you didn't read our guides, shame on you!) is to create a DVD2AVI project file from the VOB set. That D2V is a sort of 'pointer' of the VOBs. You'll load the .D2V file with VirtualDub + some application which halps him to load them (VFAPI Reader Codec of AVISynth). Read http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx_anamorphic.cfm , od http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx.cfm for 4:3.
Your rite I did not read the guide I didn't think it would be so difficult AVI is so popular. But anyway I will do what's suggested and if their are anymore problems I will holla back. Thanks you guys and have a nice day.
You may need make sure the original file can be played by the WMP, and you have installed the codec(Xvid/Divx) for AVI, good luck
After lookin at the guide and all the steps I got discourged not that I couldn't do it but it seems like a lot just to change the 4gb of vob files to AVI. I can't believe their is not a one step program. All the stuff I download off the web is avi and all those people do all those steps in the guide to do it.............my hat is off.
All scene releases use XviD, not DivX. They also wouldn't be using VDub filters, VFAPI, etc. Basically very little of what is in that guide. There are plenty of one click type apps such as AutoGK, FairUse Wizard, StaxRip, AVI.NET, etc.
Thanks man I didn't mean to sound like a dummy but I guess sometimes it happens any way. I will definitly try one of those programs and thanks again.
