Exactly my question. I was looking through the Divx homepage and noticed that they're selling the Divx Pro codec now. What does Divx Pro do that normal free Divx doesn't? Is it worth buying?
free version is a decoder only, to watch divx videos. pro version is an decoder/encoder, you can use the encoder to record divx compliant videos.
Actually, the free version is also an encoder, but it doesn't include advanced encoding options that the $$$ version does. For example, custom resize, resize filter, noise reduction, etc.
