I don't have Clone DVD but I'd have to guess this is for making a backup that works like the original instead of just having the movie and no menus. Many people either don't like menus or don't consider them worth keeping if it takes space away from the movie (and therefore requires the movie to be compressed more).

    @ozy
If you didn't have anything useful to add why did you post at all? If everybody who didn't know the answer to a question posted we'd end up with several thousand useless posts on every thread.

Sorry! I'll take the flack for that one. How stupid of me.

Menu: You can copy the original DVD menu by selecting the “Preserve menus” checkbox in the upper right-hand corner of the window. NOTE: If you want to split the original DVD you have to preserve the menu.

    Vurbal,

and you don't see that now ?

That's the way we're advanced here at aD, you're aware of that. If we waited for people to all post quality posts, we'd be inundated with Newbies and Junior members. The ranks of the seniors are beginning to swell, as will the Addicts soon to follow, Heck, you know, it's how I got here, not by quality but by my numbers only.

I didn't see that he said anything to hurt the thread nor did he say anything so unrelated as to wonder what planet he came from as have others at times, Mods included, and no one says anything at all to them.

Ozy didn't deserve that "slap," I know that he doesn't multi-post nor waste page after endless page posting truly useless things on the testing thread nor in endless banter in the Safety Valve as so many others we both could name are prone to do.

His extremely minor infraction didn't warrant even a slight reprisal and, in my view, leaves him deserving of an apology by you –

Corrective posts should be designed to curtail those who disrupt, side-track or derail threads. Off topic and disrespectful posts should be addressed, as should so much idle banter between members who engage in it regularly to seemingly elevate their post count, those should take precedence over such a minor thing as this. There are other members who actively engage in the above, satisfied in the knowledge that "Members" are "untouchable" There are enough infractions throughout the forums that could keep a skilled typist busy for some time without having to bother with so innocent an entry as we have here.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why you choose to address Ozy in such a manner. It's not like you Vurbal, it really isn't man and this time, you're wrong.

That's my opinion and as you're aware, I'll stand by it -

Season's Greetings Vurbal, it's a time for Peace,

    Pete

Sorry Pete but I don't think I was out of line. I realize there are a lot of posts made that could be considered "garbage" posts, and many of them no doubt violate the letter of the rules (and no question about it the mods do it too). For the most part these things get ignored because they're done as part of a conversation. Rules or no rules I wouldn't feel right about cracking down on people for adding a little conversation with their friends to a thread. Aside from some common technical interests we're all here to have a good time, and it would be silly to discourage people from being friendly.

On the other hand, you have to draw the line somewhere. Some things are obviously out of bounds, and others are a more of a personal judgement call. When I see a post that basically reads "I just posted to say I have nothing to say" I see a line that's been crossed. I have a problem with people who appear to be posting just to post, and whenever I see it I call them on it (this wasn't the first time, and unfortunately I doubt it will be the last). That's what I define as nothing to add. It's not an offense comparable to a personal attack or asking for a pirated movie, which is why my response was nowhere near as severe as it would have been for either of those situations.

The only reason I commented was because I was unsure of the answer myself and wanted to see someone elses feedback message later. I don't know about you, but it's pretty hard going back through posts to find the answer from a thread title which reads nothing like the question. A post as critical as yours does somewhat offend users of this forum who really are just trying to help others in the long run.

And if you think mine was bad check this out

If you had said something along the lines of "I'd like to know too" I wouldn't have made a comment about it. But that wasn't what you said. What you said was "I don't know". Those are 2 very different statements. One's an answer and the other is a question. As far as I'm concerned the subject is closed. If you think I've done something wrong you should report it to the admins. If you see a post like the one you linked to on Blasteroids you should report it to the admins as well.

Edit: If you (or anyone else) believes I've posted something that's out of line you can always PM me explaining why. If you were to look through my posts over the last couple of years you'd find that when somebody points out that I'm wrong I'm more than willing to admit it and apologize. That doesn't mean I'll agree with you that I've done something wrong, but I'm a big enough man to apologize when I see that I have.

    Right -

Shall I report all post not contributing to a thread then and post them to your attention ?

Since I always seem to be in the wrong, I think something in writing is required -

Crikey, not sure what to make of this! I can see very valid points on both sides.
I've been here a while now & I love the banter we all have. I have been reminded of the rules on very rare occasions!
The way this is going, not too well from where I am sat, it could end up all uuurrrgghhh, don't really want to go there.
I would like to remind everyone what happened on Boxing day in the Indian ocean.

That really brought home to me just how important life is, & how petty we can sometimes get.
Not necessarily on this post but life in general.
To be honest we all know that we can be!

I really like it on this forum, I respect all members, as I respect people in life.

I hope that I have not trod on anybodies toes, but I felt rather compelled to put fingers to keyboard. (yes you read correctly, plural of finger!)
Most of my thoughts are with the people involved in recent events, I have a cousin who lived & worked on an island in Thailand.
I do not know if he is still alive.

    Peace and love to all,

    pulsar

I don't know exactly what you think I've done to you to rate this last comment, but when you have time you might want to climb down off your cross and re-read what I posted.
