Since Ive been having problems burning video files to a DVD+R with different programs does it really matter what brand name discs you use? I have been using Sony and never have problems burning music files with this brand but some users on the board think HP ADVENT is better so could this be an issue ? I an now trying to add 2 video files to a disc and running into problems again and it looked like I had more than enough room . I'd like to try DVDCLONE but that is not a free application like IMGBURN .

It is not the brand that is important (although some store "brands" may end up being off-grade product sold at budget prices) but the media identification code or MID of the disc. The drive reads the code to determine what laser power level and pulse rate to apply to the disc during recording. If you have success with Sony, stay with them and don't worry about other people's claims. Those who denigrate certain brands/MID codes do so generally because their own drives are incompatible with those discs.
