I'm a newbie so forgive me if if this post sounds ignorant. From what I understand neither DVD+R nor DVD-R are the same as what the movie companies use to make their DVDs. Even though DVD+/-R may be compatible with DVD players its not the real McCoy. What I am wondering is what hardware exactly do the pros use for authoring REAL DVD movies. Also What software would they use? Just curious
I’ve been doing some research and found out that the DVD-9 (dual-layer) standard requires that two layers of polymer be pressed together. I know that the equipment and media to do this exists, but where could an individual or a company find such equipment. Also what about software? What type of software do you guys think the movie industry in conjunction with their dual layer burners?
