Personally I think the most notable difference is that +R and +R DL can be booktyped to DVD ROM with certain PC burners to improve player compatibility. That becomes less an issue with the newer players though. Other than that both formats are round and shiny and if the PC supports the format, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Be sure to use quality media. Some equipment like standalone recorders only use one format. As for myself, I started buying +R and never quit.
