No, that did not WORK!!! Anyone knows how to fix this????? Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
The drivers are probably online, check the support section of their manufacturers' websites. Reinstall them manually. I've never had good luck letting Windows do anything by itself.
Have a look at this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314060 or try downloading this http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/XP_CD-DVD-Fix.zip or give system restore a go
Did you ever get this problem fixed? Cause i had the same problem. I just disconnected my HD (slave) turned my computer on, and it only saw the master. I then shutdown the computer connected the slave, it still didn't recognize it then went to Disk Managment. It saw the slave drive was there but it had to be formatted or something. So i just right clicked on the drive, some instructions came up, read step by step and my drive came back...
