What is a data cartridge?

    well... what is a data cartridge? where do you hook it up and how does it work?

    well thanks for nothing, i could of very easily stated that i searched in google before and that all i found was data cartridges for sale and no info about what it actually is but i thought that you would assume i did and that a junior member like me would know to search before posting.

    I thought that the Google information was fairly self evident.

    A data cartridge is used to store data.

    They are normally very similar to a cassette tapes and are used to back up data stored on servers, harddrives etc. for restoration purposes if/when required.

    The players/recorders slot into a computer in the same way as CD/DVD drives.

    Hook it up to normal IDE cables.

    Works by recording data onto a tape - capacity from 5 to 100 GB.
