why does on downloaded softwares and files see the word 'exe' on them? what is exe and what does it means. i also see it on some files on my pc, what is that?
.Exe is an installer. If you wanted to run or install a program or game, you would need to use the .Exe
.exe simply means that the file is executable (hence the "exe"). This can be an installer (like dougal said), but it can also be a program. Also, an installer doesn't have to be an exe, it can be a .msi, or something else. .exe files are files that can be run by themselves without needing the support of any other program.
yep seb32 is right. There are various programs/games that dont even rely on .exe anymore. A lot of stuff use .bat or self extracting archives, (though u would probably still need the .exe)...
