Whenever I go to buy my media, I always find that the 2.4x is usually cheaper. But my recorder does not have that speed. I am totally new to all of this. So sorry if I sound dumb. What is the difference in the different speeds. And it is possible to buy these discs and record at a 2x speed
2.4x is the max write speed. 2.4x, 4x, 8x.. just burns faster. I have a 8x drive but still use 2.4x or 4x. What burner do you have? Also you can check the drives specs to see max write speeds and compatible media. I dont see why you can't write at 2x, but most select write at max speed.
Does that mean I can use those discs. My writer goes all the way to 16x HP Pavilion 754n Pentium 4 2.53GHz 80 GB ultra dma hard drive 512mb ddrsd ram memory HP dvd writer 300n driver version 5.1.2535.0 XP home
I think the 16x is max read speed, not write. But I'm sure it will write at that speed. Is it similar to the 300i? If so it will write up to 4x.
