Okay I got a bunch of my movies in mpeg and avi format. I'm wanting to convert them to vobs. However, with what I got now it converts each avi to a 1GB size vob. My files are around 200 to 300MB so this is taking up way more space than needed. What program will let me fit most of my files in vob format with a dvd menu screen.. etc.

    Thanks.

What i do is using 3 options:
1st Option: Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0
Simple u can convert any files into VOBs with menus.

2nd Option: Using TMPGEnc DVD Author.
This program will take mpg, m2v, vobs, mpeg2 files but often files we want on DVD are diffrent settings like NTSC or PAL or sometime just badly encoded so you u need to convert them into acceptable format and in TMPGEnc DVD Author u cant mix NTSC and PAL files into one project, your files must be the same format otherwise its not gonna work, so i use before: TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator to convert avi or mpg fils into what format i want (example: PAL or NTSC and resize them, DVD, SVCD) after u want to choose VBR MPEG-1 Layer II Audio (MP2) because its best option to predict the output files size after switchoff the interlace, adjust the video bitrate/audio kbps. Carefull with video bitrate u dont want to cut off to much of it, it will lower your quality, i use http://www.divx-digest.com/software/av_bc.html Its video bitrate calculator, usefull tool. Once u have all files prepared TMPGEnc DVD Author is the easyest, fastest tool for authoring dvds, thats why i us eit in 90% of time.

    3rd Option: WinAVIVideoConverter.
I used it few times to convert movies, one film about 2 hours long fitted into 1.5GB size and quality was the same and process was about 30min.

These are the best tools in my opinion to convert and creat DVDs, good luck!
