I was wondering if anyone can tell me what program should i use to rip cd's. I need one that id's the cd and tracks from like a database automatically. I wondering cause i want to put music on ipod, but don't want to tag every single cd it a pain. Any help would be awesome thanks!!
whatever you do don't rip your CDs with that awful itunes crap that your ipod came with. although you might have to use it to transfer your music to your ipod. the best ripper out there is called EAC (exact audio copy). It has extensive drive control and error correction for a 100% true accurate rip. It can utilize the external LAME mp3 encoder, and when set at VBR (variable bitrate) settings you will create very decent mp3s. EAC automatically connects to the freedB to get album/track info, and tags the mp3s as well. Most modern rippers/encoders do this. We have a complete step by step guide on how to use and setup EAC here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm
