What is the deal with patching

I have heard people saying somegames needed to be patched. What does this mean? How do I tell if a game needs to be patched? WHat is the process to patch? Does the program do it automatically.

patching is basically taking the default.xbe file and using a prog that makes it so u can play it either on the hardrive or back up disk. some games like brute force well not work unless u patch it. the only thing patching does is change the code that makes the program look for the original disk. u can find the programs in many website just do a search on xbox patching.

 

How do you kbow if a game needs to be patched . How do you do it.

 

If you try to boot the game and it takes you back to the evox dashboard it needs patched.. pretty much any new game will need it
