Hello all... Ok, I'm a newby so I'm really not sure where to post this,but I have a k7 processor (amd 3000) gigabyte MB, I also have a maxtor160 gig hard drive (which is set to master, now my question is.. the following are rom drives I have installed on my machine, LiteOn DVD Burner, LiteOn CD Burner, Pioneer DVD player, how should the jumpers be set? I can get them to play but not burn... even with Windows media player 10... I want to burn music to cd's and copy movies to DVD's...as well as play them all
First question, why three burners? Anyway I have had my dvdRW,dvd and Hard Drive on a few different settings but didn't find it mattered as much as good copy programs, good media and the ASPI layer. At the moment I have the HD as primary master and the dvdRW as secondary master with the other dvd drive as secondary slave and am having no problems. I would get rid of some of the burners, one dvdrw is enough but no harm leaving another if you want to copy straight from one disc to another. So with that said we need more info what program are you using to copy? What media are you using? What way are your current dvd drives set up? Have you an up to date aspi layer? Your Q: why three burners? only two are burners and they are the LITEON CD and DVD burners the Pioneer is just a DVD ROM; the two LITEON's are jumpered as follows CD Burner is master and the DVD Burner is slave then I have the Maxtor hhd as master and the PioneerDVD-Rom as slave. I'm running windows xp as for programs I'm using: Windows media player cause I've only burned music thus far...I also have Direct DVD I recently had to replace my processor. Please tell me what programs I should be using? and what in the world is ASPI layer? should I have one and where do I get it?
Sorry about the three burners, eyesight going! OK If it was up to me I would set the dvdrw as master. I read somewhere that the dvd player/burner should be on seperate lines and as masters, but mine works fine in a master/slave combo. As for the ASPI layer go here: http://aspi.radified.com/ You will need copying and maybe authoring software such as: NERO (v6 or v7) DVDshrink DVDdecryptor D.I.K.O. ISO Buster DVDsanta This is a good starting list but is by no means definitive, find the programs that you feel comfortable with and do what you need.
