My birthday is on Thanksgiving this year, but i'm having a party tomorrow I usually get around 100-150 dollars each year and I already have 133.15 in my bank I was wondering what i should get.

    A Nintendo Wii
    A PSP
    A Mod Chip for PS2
    or a 30GB Video iPod

my ipod shuffle is on it's last leg and i have all the applications to put my store bought dvds on the Video iPod or PSP. But I would also like a nextgen console, and I want a PS2 Mod-chip so i can play games downloaded from bittorrent.

What Should I get Please post your suggestions.

You shouldn't get any of the above.
Donate the money to a good cause...
Or give it to me !

    The magic is gone

I remember buying records when they were vinyl. I loved nothing better than to set them up and listen to them on a good stereo and plow through the artwork.

There was something magical in that sense of it belonged to you.

I'd take off the wrapping, carefully slide it out of the wrapper, lay it on the turntable, clean it, and then carefully adjust the controls while it started playing, and then lay back with that artwork and just enjoy the magic.

That's no longer part of the listening experience. The magic is gone. So is the artwork.

With the mp3, the ambience isn't there and I can't hear the stick hit the cymbol before it rings. Nor can I hear the guitar pick hit the string the moment before the string rings. What's worse, the price for this junk has gone up and I can't legally put it on the reel to reel to enjoy as a long playing tape that doesn't need to be fooled with for a long time.

Mp3's don't do it for that sort of equipment. You always hear what's missing and notice it's missing. That's not quality. Nor is it worth a dollar for that sort of sub-par product, even if the artists were as good as they were then (and they're not for the most part).

    Bill O'Reilly Hates the iPod
    Topic: Humor

When I'm not wondering what Bill O'Reilly is good for, I really wonder what his radio show is for. Now we know: To generate the most hilarious anti-iPod rant this side of the comments thread whenever I post about Zune.

In the midst of a discussion of the violence that surrounded the launch of the Sony PlayStation 3, O'Reilly goes a bit off the deep end. Quoth the Pundit, as transcribed by Ipodeagle GamePolitics:

I don’t own an iPod. I would never wear an iPod… If this is your primary focus in life - the machines… it’s going to have a staggeringly negative effect, all of this, for America… did you ever talk to these computer geeks? I mean, can you carry on a conversation with them? …I really fear for the United States because, believe me, the jihadists? They’re not playing the video games. They’re killing real people over there.

Yep, that's why America is at risk -- because we aren't training our children to kill real people, we're giving them video games. That's a unique take on family values, huh?

ok, since no one is really answerin you, heres my *expert* ;) advice:

you dont have enough money for a Wii
    PSPs suck
Mod chip is a winner ;)
U dont need an ipod, Creative Vision M is far superior but u dont have enough money for either :)

@Ireland: why doesn't you're poison ivy have shiny leaves ... oh, it bee poison ivy alright, but where's the shine?? I also know why you put that soap there but I don't think they do that anymore though they did when I was young...was the best thing for it short of a couple of hours swimming in the ocean.

I use to get it so bad, I looked like a pizza. Out came the scrub brush and the soap...after which, I looked like a bug covered in amber.

I did smoke poison ivy once too albeit quite by accident; it was fall and my uncle was burning leaves. Spent a week in the hospital ... my worst case of poison ivy ever. I'll spare you the details...suffice it to say that I had it from head to toe .... some sort of blood poisoning from the lungs. You know though, I never caught it again after that.

@Tucker...If you're getting money at christmas too, I'd wait a month to buy something twice as good.

I think you should buy a turkey.

Then, with the remaining 90-140 you could buy yourself some nice green tree/s and have fun on Thanksgiving.

Edit. lol, it would go good with J_Bone's.

iPod is a piece of s*it, but there's nothing better. Creative try and match for style but the interface on the iPod is the easiest to use as it integrates with iTunes like a glove.

Well....I'm listening. It's just that, at your age, guys tend to rake it in pretty good at christmas. You have 133.15, plus 100+ for your birthday so approx $250.

My point was this: we seldom get a chance to hit the large ticket items we want unless we set ourselves up for a lump of money.

I've got my income taxes set up that way. I can't touch whatever I've saved and I do like to tamper so I have them take a certain amount extra for income taxes. Every march, I get this nice big juicy check for $5000 or so. Since I'm really rotten with money and don't like to tamper because I don't have a clue what I'm doing, I've set it up so that I get this nice big check designed for one perpose ... SPENDING IT! I can just say Frigg It and hop on a plane to Paris, buy new computers or HT equipment...whatever. Its a nice sizable treat once a year. Seems that you have that oppotunity with your birthday and christmas back to back. I know it "burns in your pocket" as me mum use to say but it's nice to have a nice big sum. Imagine the fun you'll have spending 500 instead of 250?

Edit: What are your hobbies anyway?
