    As most of our regulars know by now, we have this plan to take over the world and share it with Google... To further assist with our task, I wanted to gather some information from you guys.

    Basically, we'd love to know what software directories / download sites you use to download all the latest freeware / shareware / etc tools? And no, I don't want a list of best Torrent download sites, but stuff like where you go when you want to download, say, latest version of your favourite browser, text editor, etc? World is full of download sites, dominated by CNet's download.com, but help us out here, as we want to gather some information what are the sites popular among our users and what we could learn from those sites, when developing our software sidekick (filepedia.com).

    So, lets get this rolling :)

    I usually go to the site of the product if I know it, ie Opera.

    But if I see a product name in a forum thread I use right-click/search and search download.com, they're just huge I guess is why.

    I don't think their site is layed out any better or worst than most, they just seem to have a hell of a lot of product. Also, if I search for a product, they usually end up near the top of the search results.

    If I want ANYTHING to do with Video or Audio then I'm always here, although I do admit to searching Afterdawns software section before filepedia, only becuase I'm a lazy git and aD is in my bookmarks :)

    Last time I checked filepedia though it was looking sweet, nice look and feel to it and plenty of goodies to try to.

    I'm going now to have a refresher :)

    I go to download.com too. What I like about their site is the popularity numbers (sortability). Their categories are kind of broad, though.

    Softpedia is probably my #1 spot when I need a download of a particular program;

    Great One-Stop... http://www.softpedia.com/

    That's it, aim high! Like it... :)
